Waiting on Wednesday #5

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re anticipating.

For this Waiting on Wednesday I picked the book :

Title: The Great Hunt
Author:  Wendy Higgins
Publisher: HarperTeen
Publication Date: March/8/2016

Summary (from Goodreads):

Kill the beast. Win the girl.

A strange beast stirs fear in the kingdom of Lochlanach, terrorizing towns with its brutality and hunger. In an act of desperation, a proclamation is sent to all of Eurona—kill the creature and win the ultimate prize: the daughter of King Lochson’s hand in marriage.

Princess Aerity understands her duty to the kingdom though it pains her to imagine marrying a stranger. It would be foolish to set her sights on any particular man in the great hunt, but when a brooding local hunter, Paxton Seabolt, catches her attention, there’s no denying the unspoken lure between them…or his mysterious resentment.

Paxton is not keen on marriage. Nor does he care much for spoiled royals and their arcane laws. He’s determined to keep his focus on the task at hand—ridding the kingdom of the beast and protecting his family—yet Princess Aerity continues to challenge his notions with her unpredictability and charm. But as past secrets collide with present desires, dire choices threaten everything Paxton holds dear.

Inspired by the Grimm Brothers’ tale, “The Singing Bone,” New York Times bestselling author Wendy Higgins delivers a dark fantasy filled with rugged hunters, romantic tension, outlawed magic, and a princess willing to risk all to save her people.

Thoughts:  I am beyond excited for this book. I LOVED the sweet trilogy, and I've been dying to get my hands on anything Wendy Higgins....BUT WE HAVE TO WAIT TILL MARCH. AGONY.

What are you waiting on?

Ship it Sunday #6
(SIS)

Hello Blogger friends, Welcome to the Sixth official Ship it Sunday! For those of you who haven't seen my previous posts, I created Ship it Sunday for the purpose of talking about our Ships. I would imagine that 99% of us know what a ship is. But for those who don’t, here’s the definition: ship  (Yes, I got this from Urbandictionary.com).

N: Short for romantic relationship, popularized in fanfiction circles.

V: To endorse a romantic relationship.

N: I see a 'ship developing between Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.

V: I ship Ron/Hermione

Point of Ship It Sunday:

We all have ships. I know I use “I ship it” for just about everything including chips with cheese. I thought that we could have Sunday dedicated to our lovely character ships though. Every Sunday we can talk about different ships, little ships, dying ships, ships we wish existed, and ENORMOUS ships. Point is Ships. I want this to be an interactive post, PLEASE comment on your opinions of the ship! I promise I won’t throw stones at you, even if your opinion is different from mine.  Hell, you might not even ship them! That is perfectly okay! I would love to hear what you have to say! Oh, and there will probably be spoilers in the post, so if you have not read the book that is being talked about in their post that Sunday, please don’t continue reading the post! Go read the book!

NOW LET THE SHIPPING BEGIN!!!

For this Ship it Sunday I chose: Will and Tessa From Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Yes yes....this trilogy is over, but that doesn't change the amount of love I have for this couple. They have been such a strong force in my OTP world for such a long time, there is NO WAY I could forget them. Plus, who doesn't LOVE a Herondale? *Crickets...I hear lots of crickets*
That's what I thought people.  ;)

Reasons to ship Will and Tessa:

They are a power couple. One of the strongest couples I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading about, and I love the fact that they rely on each other for help but it was never the annoying kind of “Oh save me, I can’t do this without you ever.” They just always supported each other.
Tessa made Will realize just how much love can affect you, and that he wasn’t really a cursed man. Lol
They both LOVE BOOKS. Guys, let me be honest about this- I think this is the main reason they are one of my favs…I WANT A MAN WHO READS. PLEASE. They were just so cute with their book talk.

Thanks for stopping by….Who do you ship?

Stay Drunk….on Books,
Steph

Every Last Breath

Every Last Breath

By: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Rating: 4.5 wine Glasses

Before I turn into a sobbing mess, you all need to know that JLA is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE AUTHORS OF EVER, so finishing this series was difficult. VERY. VERY. DIFFICULT.
However, that didn’t change the fact that the moment it came out I bought the ibook because I knew I wouldn’t get the physical book in the mail until..well today. I mean, come on, who wants to wait that long for a JLA book? Not this desperate girl over here. That’s for sure. So now I have the ibook, AND A SIGNED COPY OF EVERY LAST BREATH!!!!
I regret nothing.

Oh, and I am going to try to write this review without spoilers! (Even though not talking about the guy she ended up with is very difficult)

First off, ELB (Every Last Breath) was an amazing conclusion to the Dark Elements series, you have the classic JLA swooning romance, some series butt whoppin’, and the plot comes full circle. You OBVIOUSLY find out who she ends up with, but MY LIPS ARE SEALED.  (if some of you have finished and want to talk about it email me! PLEASE)
Now, since I can’t talk about the guys, I cant really talk about the majority of this book, because well lets face it….the majority of this book was romance.
Yes yes…the plot was wonderful and great and all things mighty but it was secondary in this book. This books main focus was most definitely on establishing who Layla choose as her man for life and ever and ever.

Because I don’t want to create this review into a giant spoiler mess, I’m going to state a few things I liked..then make a SUPERNATURAL gif review. (Dedicated to Jens love for Supernatural)

CAYMEN. Wow people. This dude wasn’t even that main of a character but I LOVED him. If Jen wrote a book about him I already know I would be highly amused. I want a Caymen. I really want a Caymen, mainly because he ALWAYS has the best lines. “For realsies.”

The oricale kid is wonderful. He likes chicken. He's ten, and he pretty much rules the world with his magnificent powers. Jens always been good at writing in younger snarky characters, and I adore them. ALWAYS. EVERY TIME.

Lastly, The plot really did finish off well. There were a few things that were predictable, but for the most part I feel like the entire trilogy was its own kinda unique and Jen really rocked this conclusion.

Now…For my Little Supernatural Gif Review….

The instant you open the book you're all like...

There is some moments with the familiars...

Like I said, there is a some predictable stuff...

Whenever the Lilin comes around..

 Layla snarkiness...

 Some scenes are just...

 But, there's also moments when...

 and some of this...

However, in the end you will be telling Jen..

And you will most definitely tell her this..
